The Gathering

The Wednesday Gathering includes a weekly fellowship meal in the CLLC. The meal serving line will be open 5:15- 6:15pm. There will be no set price for meals. Instead, donations will be accepted.

Reservations for the meals will be requested, but all who come will be welcomed!

Reservations can be placed via of our web site.
Simply click here and you will be taken directly to the On-line Gathering Reservation Form. Simply enter the requested information. Once you click the Submit button, an email containing the information that you entered is automatically forwarded to the church office. Please submit your reservation by 12:00 PM Monday.

Adult Bible Studies will begin at 6:30 and will include a Weekly Sermon Text Study in the Joe Taylor classroom led by the pastors; a 10 week study on the Psalms (Seekers Classoom) ; a continuing Disciples II class (Library); and a 7 week Discovery Bible Study on basic Christian beliefs for new Christians. Call the office to register for the Psalms or Discovery class.

Wednesday Night Kids -Children and pre-teens, don’t miss out on all the fun, fellowship, and activities as we learn about Jesus and experience His love. Children age 4-Grade 4 will be participating in FAITHWEAVERS and pre-teens in grades 5 and 6 will be participating in GRAPPLE. Programs begin at 6pm and end at 7pm in the CLLC

There will be a youth council meeting next Sunday, October 5th in the youth room following the 10:30am worship service. Please bring your own lunch.

KIDZFEST Choir Thank You
Thank you to all the participants of the KIDZFEST Choir, which was held September 20th. Our wonderful participants were Sojourner Tripp, Megan Yaeger, and Morgan Jones. Thank you to our leader and choir monitor Betsy Nichols, and to our other choir monitor Linda Yaeger. You all are the best!

PrimeTimers Plan Outing
How about a tour of the Tea Plantation? Arrangements have been made for a group tour Thursday, October 9th. We’ll load the church bus and leave the parking lot at 10:00am. After our tour, there will be lunch at California Dreaming. Reserve your place on the bus now! A signup sheet is located on the PrimeTimers bulletin board just outside the church office.

Backpack Buddy Helpers
Come join us at 5:00pm each Wednesday evening in the CLLC where we’ll be sorting and bagging food items for the Backpack Buddy mission. After bags have been packed each week, a list of food items needed for the following week will be determined. Come join us!

Bake Sale
Our Hibben confirmands invite you to stop by their table located along Apostles’ Walk both before and after this Sunday's 10:30 worship service. There’s sure to be a goodie or two to catch your eye. All proceeds will help defray the cost of their 2008-2009 retreats.

The organ pipes, that is. So that they will be well protected, we’re searching for moving blankets. We anticipate using them for about 4-months. If you can help us out, please notify the church office or see Steve Bare. Be sure each blanket has your name attached.

15th Annual CROP Hunger Walk

Sunday, November 2nd

New Location: Hampton Park (you can bring your pets)

Family events @ 1:00pm, Walk begins @ 2:00pm

Sign up for the walk at the CROP display in the Narthex and pick up materials. Teams from businesses or clubs are welcome!

Charge Conference
Hibben’s annual Charge Conference will be held Wednesday, October 8th at 7:00pm in the sanctuary. All members of the Administrative Board are asked to be present. Our new Charleston District Superintendent, The Rev. Patricia Parrish, will preside and guide us through the necessary business items

Thank You!
God blessed us with an amazing festival last weekend. Over 30,000 attended, and of those 1280 responded to the altar call, including many from Hibben. Give the praise to God!!

Kairos Prison Ministry
It’s that time again! The Kairos Prison Ministry fall weekend is October 8 – 12 and Emily Ghassemzadeh is GOING TO JAIL! She needs your prayers, your support and your cookies ! ! ! Cookies must be delivered to the church office no later than 12:00 noon, October 8th. Need more information? See Emily for details.
