United Methodist Women

UMW is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. Hibben's UMW members provide a network of services, which enables the church to carry out its various functions and missions. There are also sub-groups called "Circles" that meet once a month. United Methodist Men

The United Methodist Men is a fellowship and service group which meets on the 2nd Monday of each month. Every other month, a featured speaker presents a special topic. They organize two major fund-raisers each year- the Pumpkin Patch and an oyster roast. Funds raised are used to support our church's programs and missions. Contact the church office for further details concerning specific activities associated with this group.

 

United Methodist Youth

Offers opportunity for community through worship, fellowship, study and service with weekly meetings, retreats and conferences. UMYF is for youth in grades 7th -12th. They meet every Sunday evening in the Christian Life and Learning Center (CL&LC) for fun, fellowship and relating the Bible to everyday life. The Gathering
A time for the Hibben family and our guests to gather and grow in Christ through fellowship, worship, and learning. It takes place each Wednesday evenings Sept thru May.

The Gathering's Fellowship Dinner is a weekly fellowship meal catered by various groups within the church each Wednesday from 5:45 - 6:30 PM September through May. This meal is served in the CL&LC. The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children (ages 3-12 yrs), with a $20.00 per family maximum. This is a great time of fellowship for our families. For more information, contact the church office @ 884-9761. Reservations can be made by filling out the card located in the pews, by contacting the church office at (843) 884-9761 or by simply completing the online reservation form.

Primetimers

Primetimers plans exciting activities for adults of all ages, including progressive dinners, community events, day trips and weekend trips. They meet every 3rd Tuesday of the month (August - May) for lunch and a program in the Christian Life and Learning Center. Their annual picnic is held every April. They have also started a supper club where they meet once a month for dinner at a local restaurant. All adults in the church are invited to attend.

Wednesday Children's Program

All Children are invited to come for a fun, exciting Wednesday night program at Hibben called FaithWeaver Friends! This is a fun time for all when we learn about God and worship Him! We worship him through games, music, fun projects, and surprises! The fun begins at 6:10pm and lasts until 7:00pm in the CLLC. Additional information can be found on the Children's Page.

Disciples

Disciples is a year long study of the entire Bible. Call the church office for details on current classes.

Vacation Bible School

VBS is a summertime ministry designed for 3 year olds through 4th graders. The Christian based material varies from year to year. This fun filled week teaches the children about the Bible through praising, singing, crafts, stories and worship. Additional information can be found on the Children's Page

Youth Booster Club

This group was formed by a group of parents who are interested in helping the youth raise money for missions and the furnishing of the youth rooms in the Todd Carter Youth area of the CLLC. The group meets once a month to plan activities such as the wreath and plant sales, dinners, car washes, and the Adult/Youth basketball game. We invite all who are interested in the continued ministry and support of our youth here at Hibben.

Family Ministries

This committee offers activities throughout the year which provide wonderful opportunities for fellowship between members, friends and-the community. They also raise funds for the Mallard-Sweatt Scholarship Fund which benefits Hibben youth pursuing higher education.

Church Library

The church library is located in the Barton Wing. The library was recently refurbished in memory of Edie Booher. The library has comfortable chairs, a conference table, and a children's section. There are a variety of books and video and audio materials available on the Bible, church history, Christian formation and growth and United Methodism available for on-site use or checkout.

Scouting

 

Scout Logo

Hibben sponsors Boy Scout Troop #40 and Cub Scout Pack #40. Girl Scout troops currently include a Brownie troop, two junior troops and a Cadet troop. The Scouts welcome enthusiastic children and leaders to join their ranks. Call the church office for details.

An Alcoholics Anonymous chapter meets in the CL&LC on Saturdays at 8:00 PM.

Overeaters Anonymous

An Overeaters Anonymous chapter meets in the CL&LC on Mondays at 5:30 PM,
