Hibben Preschool provides developmentally
appropriate education within a safe and loving Christian community.
Enrollment for the 2009-2010 school year begins in January 2009. Further down on the left-hand side of this page is a section with links to "Online Forms and Documents." There you will find links to Open Enrollment Information, the Enrollment Application, and Enrollment Frequently Asked Questions. If you are interested in enrolling for the remainder of the current school year, please contact the preschool office to inquire about current availability.
Hibben Preschool requires all enrolled children to have a current SC Certificate of Immunization on file in the preschool office. We do not accept medical, religious or other exemptions.
Hibben Preschool currently offers mothers’
morning out (MMO), preschool and kindergarten classes. Enrollment in a
particular class is based on the child’s age as of September 1. MMO, preschool and 4k classes are from 9:00 a .m. until 12:30,5k classes are from 9:45 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Each class follows a daily routine that
includes playground time and lunchtime, in addition to a variety of group
and independent activities that mix learning with fun. The day can be
extended with participation in optional after school activities, which
currently include dance, gymnastics, Spanish, Science and karate.
MMO
Children 12-23 months attend two or more
mornings per week, with older children together in one room and younger
children together in an adjacent room. A safe, secure and loving
environment is provided for these young toddlers as they explore and
discover the world around them. Supervised, independent playtime is
interspersed with music, songs, stories, and simple craft activities.
Steady walkers participate in outdoor playtime, and accommodations are
available for those who still need a mid-morning nap to regain their energy
after a round of active play. Preschool
Two, three and four year olds attend 2, 3, or 5 mornings per week. There are separate classrooms for each age group. Daily activities alternate between creative play and more structured activities, and include table time, circle time, activity centers, lunch, playground time, music, stories and crafts. Weekly chapel time is also included for three year olds. Through these activities, children learn both the social and academic skills necessary for a successful transition to elementary school.
Kindergarten
Four year olds attend kindergarten (4k) 4 or 5 mornings per week. Five year olds attend kindergarten (5k) 5 mornings per week. The curriculum is based on SC state standards, with an emphasis
on math and language arts and children continue to attend weekly chapel and music classes. The small class size ensures plenty of
individual attention. Former Hibben kindergarten students have gone on to be successful in a variety of local schools, including public, private, charter and magnet schools."
We are always hiring substitutes.
